Very happy to see Leicester take the title. Feels good to have followed them from their first season in the Premier League, seeing them at the bottom of the table last year and then this result.
Also very much enjoying the great start my Philadelphia Union has had this season!
Just a simple Hefeweizen in primary right now.
Have a Raspberry Cream Ale on deck next for summer, and really want to try my hand at a Belgian Trippel now that I have an extra fermenter.
What yeast did you use and what type of beer is it? I know the green apple smell can sometimes be a byproduct of the yeast.
Is there a green apple flavor as well or just odor?
Sounds like Acetaldehyde. Could be byproduct from the yeast or from underpitching, could be the batch is still too...
My HB Block Party Amber Ale. First couple bottles I cracked open were alright, still a little green. These last few I gave another week+ to condition and now it tastes great
When your shift at work of manning a Psychiatric Observation Cell means you plan out a brewing schedule for the next 6+ months.
I have the brew dates, bottling dates, and ready to drink dates for my next 6 or 7 batches planned out lol
My first homebrew...Block Party Amber Ale.
Only been 2 weeks in the bottle, so carbonation isn't ideal but I couldn't wait any longer lol.
Definitely super pleased with my first go at this. Not my favorite style, but this tastes very good to me. Has me even more excited for my Dunkelweizen that...
Came home today to see my Dunkelweizen bubbling away in the fermenter. Bubbles galore overflowing from the airlock...so I got to put my homemade blowoff tube to use for the first time. My favorite part of this hobby is still to sit in my living room serenaded by the bubbling sounds of a good...
So I just finished my 2nd brew day, a Dunkelweizen. My first brew (an Amber Ale) has been in bottles for about a week and decided I wanted to get going with my next batch.
Definitely learned a lot from my first time and the problems I had:
-Tried to boil on my electric stove and couldn't...
Amber Ale. I figured it was probably done, but wouldn't mind if it dropped just a tiny bit more. I think with my OG at 1.042 I'm sitting at just under 4% abv if I'm calculating correct. Was hoping to push it above 4.
According to my recipe, my OG was exactly what it was supposed to be though...
Cracked open that Wild Sour Lynnbrook Raspberry Berliner Weisse I bought last night.
This was my first time trying a sour...honestly was a little hesitant after learning about what makes sour beer, but I gotta say this was really good. Definitely want to try some more.
