Maybe, but British Crystal and Carapils are different. I have tried making hefe with both and plain crystal produced the result I was happiest with.

I'm brewing a 'Christmas Pudding' Stout. It's an idea I tried last year, but screwed it up. Too many spices.
This year I am going to make a solid stout base (90% pale malt, 10% roasted barley) and flavour with vanilla and cinnamon.
Not sure yet of yeast or hop schedule.

Try switching your carapils for crystal. I am just drinking a brew with a similar recipe to yours, even the same yeast!
I used 40% wheat, 40% marris otter and 10% crystal malt, and hopped lightly with hallertauer.
What's your recipe? Maybe there's something else in there that will look after the head for you. Many beers that have great heads don't add specific ingredients to achieve that.
