You guys inspired me, and I brewed up something close to what Vinnie outlined in his response earlier in this thread.

Partial mash
3.0 lb American 2-row
3.0 lb light dme
1.0 lb Caramel Malt 40L
1.5 lb Vienna Malt

I'd actually like some input on this too. I'm often times drinking sours alone, and would love to throw those dregs in a little starter. Or even in a sealed starter in my fridge to let them lay dormant for a while. Any experience with this would be great!
Just thought i'd throw a little update. This is my Belgian Golden at 2.5 months. Scummy bubbles are now covering the top. To recap: partial mash, 1.060, dregs used Two Brothers Askew, Supplication.
I'm about 5 weeks into my Soured Belgian Golden project, and although this is probably pretty normal to most clean beer brewers, I was pretty amazed to see this crystal clear product! I could see medium sized bubbles coming from the bottom. i got excited, took some pics, and thought i'd share...
Just thought it would be fun to contribute to this as the process goes along. Any and all comments are appreciated. This has been going for 3 weeks.

The only description that I've found is:
“ale brewed with Saccharomyces cerevisae and Brettanomyces. Transferred to oak foudre after initial fermentation. Foundre has previously gone through a spontaneous fermentation.”
So we'll see where that takes me. Any reason to believe that I...
I finally got around to brewing a batch up, and inspired by you I skimmed a gallon off the top to experiment with. Using vinnie's Belgian Golden strong recipe, this was my first partial mash (1.060). I aded a very small amount of my starter WLP570, along with RR Supplication and Two Brothers...
I'm in! I could really use this cleaner! Cleaning is the most 'un fun' part of brewing... but winning this would certainly make life a bit easier! Thanks HBT!
I did a pretty simple IPA to start with. It came out great, and it gave me the confidence to continue. Do something small, but something that you can maybe build upon in future brews... something that you can make your own in the future. Good luck! Keep us updated!
That's awesome! Looks and sounds like a great beer! I'm definitely going to use citra and columbus the next time I brew my IPA. Love the color on yours too! My IPA palette has gone with the season, but I plan on brewing one again once spring hits. It's amazing what could be had with no specialty...
I've done four extract batches only, but I'm slowly getting obsessed with the thought of doing a sour. I like your recipe, and will have to brew something like this soon! And it looks delicious!
Whenever I drink Bud Light or corona (Tecate, Estrella, etc.) I salt and Lime it. In So Cal here it's definitely inspired by the mexican culture. I like it generally if I'm drinking out of a can. It's sort of a Summer thing. Good carne asada on the grill, and like 70 bud light cans and my...
Just wait until you do your first batch in a carboy!!! I brewed on Sunday night, and can't stop watching the process take place RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! It's a beautiful thing I tell you. My first 3 batches were in buckets, it's so damn fun watching that airlock! Well done! And yes, patience and...
