    It's a sickness

Hi Kgraber, Boy I sure am glad I'm not the only one! I just got into home brewing last November. I've already brewed several batches and now have four carboys full of different fermenting beers as well as seven cans of extract waiting on the shelf. I'm almost afraid to add up how...

    Carboy bung keeps popping out

Hmmm, Is the hole in your bung or your airlock gummed up or plugged? are you seeing bubbles pass through your airlock once you've firmly seated your bung? It's hard to image there would be enough pressure building up to push your bung out of place if your airlock is functioning properly? Mark

    Bottling 10 gallon batches question

Yup, since beer is mostly water, and water weighs in at about 10lbs per gallon. A 10G full pot is going to weigh at over 100lbs!! One slip with a pot that size full off boiling water could lead to some very serious burns... Mark

Does extract brewing require same conditioning

Hi, I was wondering if making beer from extract kits require the same fermentor/bottle conditioning times as full grain or partial mash brewing does because of it's initial preparation? Thanks for your thoughts. Mark

    Bottled Spring Water

Hi Joetothemo, I suspect your probably fine using bottled water, but don't think that's all that it advertises to be. A study conducted in Vancouver last May reported that it found 70% of bottled water had higher bacteria counts then the local water! The story can be found...

    Brewing supplies?

I also would suggest: homebrew-supplies.ca I've been buying my supplies from them since November. They have a good selection of supplies and their shipping rates are very good -I just ordered approx. 25lbs of supplies and the shipping cost was only $14 for Canada Post Expidited service to...

    HELP! BIAB melted, grain loose....

Hi mtbiker278 I can understand how frustrating this must have been for you. However, If I were you I would dump this batch :( When the plastic (nylon) bag melted it would have released toxic gas into your wort! It's not the sort of thing that you would now want to drink. Just my two...
