All valves are made to be taken apart. Also if there is any oil inside, it needs to be cleaned off. Check out this video.

Probably just yeast settling out and filled up the tube. I read somewhere on this thread or another one talking about that. they said put the hose on the barb and try siphoning a little out until the beer starts flowing.

I think even with the 50 dollar mark up it is still a very good product for what your are getting. It's still cheaper than a true conical. The cone bottom along with the valve makes it worth it to me. Even though I got one at the lower price, I would still buy one today. Plus who doesn't love...
Spraying with starsan should be good enough. What I did was get a glass and drain off an ounce or so before I put my hose on and started draining it. There was a little yeast that had settled in the racking tube. Also make sure you take the airlock off or the lid to allow for some air flow so it...
That washer comes right out with hardly any effort. At least mine did. I was scared it was pressed in there and not coming out. Finally decided to give it a try. I got a flat head screw driver and gently began to pry on it. It popped out with hardly any effort. The ball has a little grove on...
Took the ball valve apart...super easy. I'm glad I did before I fill it up tomorrow. There was some water inside and a slight smell of beer in it from the last batch.

I used the dimensions from ss brew tech website for the brew bucket oring replacement pack. I ordered some new ones from theoringstore.com. I got the nitrile rubber ones. If I don't like these I might just order directly from ssbrewtech.
The exact thing happened to me the first time using it. I ordered some new ones from an o-ring website. The silicone orings that are on the racking arm seem to be a little soft. I know that's how silicone is, but maybe a different material should be used. The ones I ordered are made of that...
Did anyone passivate the bucket before using for the first time? I didn't, but just got an email from ssbrewtech saying that they recommend it. Hopefully, it's not a big deal if you don't.
To those who have the bucket, the website mentions it has a 3/8" ball valve. Does that mean the hose barb is 3/8" also or is it 1/2" barb? I'm about to order some new hose and wasn't sure.
Got this email today.. Looks like they decided to start preorders:
SO WITH THAT, WE HAVE DECIDED TO OPEN FOR PRE-PURCHASES ON OUR SITE LATER TODAY (www.ssbrewtech.com)
