Yeah I was a little disappointed since the kit was about $60 for me. It's an ok beer just not what I expected. Whether it was something on my part or Midwest who knows. There's always the next batch!
Kegged today got a final gravity of 1.018 for an ABV ~7?
I didn't do a temp reading for the "mash" so maybe that's why the ABV turned out low? Not sure but that's what I got out of it.
just transferred to a secondary today. i added 3 med size beets to try and get a rich red color. it tasted very sweet yet so im thinking of doing a third racking to let it settle. the kit suggests 3 week secondary so maybe itll even out on its own. i didnt take a gravity reading but ill keep...
