Hey everyone I brewed a Midwest Brewing irish red ale kit back in mid January and haven't had time to bottle it. I want to bottle it now and am wondering if it will still be okay to drink? Do I need to add more yeast? If so, do I add it to secondary and let it sit awhile or what? Thanks in advance!
I'm not ever sure. It's just whatever yeast was included in the kit. It's a dry yeast. Here is a link to the kit:

I brewed the Midwest Supplies Mexican Style Cerveza recipe two and a half weeks ago as my third recipe. The only modification to the recipe was I added about half a cup of corn syrup because I read a review suggesting to do that. After one week I transfered it to secondary. After a few days...
Now do any of you know if on a ceramic cooktop it's okay to use a pot that the bottom isn't completely flat? I actually ordered an aluminum 20 quart off of amazon before I found the SAMs club pot. It came today and is great quality but the bottom isn't totally flat. Attached is a picture of the...
I picked up a 6 gallon stainless kettle from sams club. The bottom is about an inch larger than the burner on my stove. Do you think this is okay or should I just get the 4 gallon?
Thanks for all the input! Right now I am using a electric glass top range to do my brewing. The keg conversion looks cool but I think I'd rather get a turkey fryer or kettle to use on our stove. I plan to continue using extract kits, but would I have a burning issue if I get a cheaper kettle?
I just got into brewing and had to borrow a kettle for my first batch. I'm not looking to buy a decent kettle. I have been looking around on amazon for one in the $20-30 range. Is it worth buying one in that range if I'm just getting into brewing? Any suggestions on what to get? Thanks in...
Thanks for all the replies! I was quite worried about it. The directions say to let it ferment for 2 weeks then bottle it. Should I do that or let it sit for the 3 weeks? How would I know what the end gravity reading should be? I didn't take an initial one so I hope that's okay.
I brewed up midwest supplies irish red ale on friday night. All day Saturday and Sunday the airlock was bubbling nonstop. I checked it Monday morning and the bubbling stopped, but I also noticed that the temperature was at 60 degrees. It was running at around 64 degrees. I brought it up to...
I just got back from vacation and my brew kit was waiting for me. I was looking at everything and the lid doesn't fit on the fermenter tight. It just kind of sits on there. Is that going to be an issue? I was thinking about calling midwest supply about it.
I also read their pamphlet on...
