    Keg Co2 Off Flavor

I'm going to order 2 more kegs and 1 more tap. I figure I can always be rotating. I really just hope the flavors I am experiencing are from impatience and I will leave my current keg alone and see how my American stout turns out. I also have a amber in my secondary thats been sitting for a...

    Keg Co2 Off Flavor

I've had my keg on co2 for over 3 weeks, this is with pulling a 1/2 pint here and there, and even at the 3 week mark there was a hint of this flavor. I just poured 3/4 of a pint and its there but a little different. But still there. I just question how people start drinking after a few days if...

    Keg Co2 Off Flavor

Thanks, I found it. You had no problems with that filter breaking on pressure. Whats the highest psi you run through that ?

Can you give me a link to what a sanitary inline filter is, I searched and see so many different kinds.

The guy claims its food grade. But lets just say its not. can the cylinder by easily emptied and refilled without off flavors. Will I need a special flushing ?

    Keg Co2 Off Flavor

I have done 2 kegs setting at 30 PSI for a day then 20psi second day. I did get carbonation much quicker, but also the off flavor came in with it. The off flavors I experience are rather nasty, but yet I read often about how some homebrewers start drinking from their kegs within days of force...

    Keg Co2 Off Flavor

I know this has been discussed numerous times, I am asking for peoples experience with kegging and co2 and flavors. I primary ferment in a bucket for 3 to 5 days. I transfer to a carboy for 2 weeks, sometimes a few days extra. Once in the keg I set it for 10psi at about 38 Fahrenheit. My...

    diy ball valve

Sorry the delays, the server that I was hosting my pictures on went offline over the weekend. I have a picture of my new brewstand which I whipped up this weekend. Its a 3 tier gravity fed stand. I will get 2 more ball valve assemblies this week, then focus on the manifolds for the mash tun...

    diy ball valve

I can't take credit for the idea as I came across it through searching. It actually was a youtube video where the guy describes very well how to make one. But i'm glad to share. I will be working on my mash tun and boiler today, so I have to pick up 2 more ball valve assemblies. I will post...

    diy ball valve

I ended up picking up a silicone baking sheet for 7$. I also picked up a 23 cent copper slip coupler which I used as a punch. I punched 2 holes, and used the washers I had as a template to cut the circumference. I laid them out like this. valve | washer | bucket wall | silicone gasket |...

    1st mini-mash - pic heavy!

congratulations!!! nice step by step pics. I totally relate to what you mean about having a blast. I just started mini mashes 2 batches ago (just kegged my second one). I must say 2.5 hours is quick. I averaged 4 to 5 hours, mind you thats including collecting water from RO system, sanitizing...

    diy ball valve

I have access to a torch. As for flux and solder, I will have to purchase. I think I will try with just using the reducer on the wet side with a home made silicone washer. If I see I need more sidewall support, I will try and solder the washer to the fitting.

    diy ball valve

So I have the choice of soldering the washer to the fitting and attempt with my existing buna-n o-ring, or use the reducer as a bulkhead with a smaller o-ring/gasket. Since I cannot find silicone gaskets near me (yet), I might try and make my own silicone gasket. I saw a youtube vid where a guy...

    diy ball valve

I just posted a reply but don't see it, maybe replies with pictures need to be approved by admin, I will try again. Wayne: Thanks for the help. Can I solder a stainless washer to a brass fitting ? Also what do you think about this order. valve | washer | bucket wall | o-ring | reducer I...
