Got my water tested... now what?

If you're brewing a specific style, you can find out where that style originated and try to match that water chemistry profile. Brewer's Friend has a good Summary of Target Water Profiles. I also like MoreBeer's Guide to Brewing Water Treatment which goes into more depth on the chemistry and has...

Can same bine have vastly different "harvest" dates?

Leaf spread and visible lupulin are normal on all my plants. Those look fine to me. They may even be able to go longer. How do they feel? Do they spring back when you squish them? Some of mine get a little brown on the tips of the leaves, and I consider them okay to use. There are some videos on...

    93% efficiency??

Thanks...I guess I'm just concerned about how to predict future batches. Is the efficiency of my brew setup and/or technique something I just have to learn from experience, or is there a way to predict it?

    93% efficiency??

The pre-boil measurement was done hot...125 degrees according to my notes. The measurement was 1.042 which I plugged into the Brewer's Friend adjuster and got 1.052. So that's probably the issue, then. The post-boil measurement was done at 80 degrees (adjusted with the same calculator), and I...

Can same bine have vastly different "harvest" dates?

I just harvested my Cascade yesterday and I'd say 60-70% of the cones were mature enough and most of the rest were too young, so I tossed them. A handful were too old, but I think waiting until next weekend would have meant that a significant portion would have been too old. If I had more...
