Cheers John. I will probably do this as I have only one fermenting bin at present. I'll get another one for when I do my next brew.

    Another fermentation question

I put my first brew on last Thursday. The instructions said leave it for five days, which I have, and wait for the bubbles to stop rising to the top, which they have. Would you suggest I bottle it now, or is it better to leave it for a few more days? Or even, is it worse to leave it longer,[ie...

    Bottles

Cheers guys. Newguy, I'm going to look into getting a keg. Unfortunatley, at this time of year, price will dictate what I get:( . I know what you mean now by kegs. Thanks for the explanation. BTW: Happy New Year to you all:mug:

    Bottles

Thanks for all the help guys. I went to Brewer Bills yesterday and it was closed, so I'm going back on Tuesday to get some. As regards kegging, I take it that is using a barrel. I did some brewing briefly when I was in my twenties and was given a barrel, although it didn't have a pressure...

    Bottles

Right, I've got my beer fermenting and I need something to put it in when fermentation has finished. I'm of to a store in the market later today called 'Brewer Bills' to get some bottles. Is there any advice to what I should be looking for. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Airlock

Thanks guys. I've kinda done a mixture of the two. I've placed some ale into a surplus container, and cleaned and sanitized the airlock, and placed it back in. Hopefully now, all I've got to do is wait for it to ferment, then bottle them up. When it comes to that I'll probably have a whole load...

Looking for a book on British ales

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm looking for any books on the history of British ale, much in the same vein as Ambitious Brew by Maureen Ogle, but dealing with British ales. Any help/recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Airlock

When I got up this morning it had bubbled out of the airlock:( . Is it best for me to remove a bit of the brew to get it down to the three inches?

    Airlock

Hi Chask. I'd got the wrong end of the stick. It's my fermenting bin that's almost to the brim. I've filled my airlock up halfway, but with just water. Is this okay? Lordy.

    Airlock

Hi rdwj. It's almost to the brim. A forty pinter. Is this correct? Lordy.
