    Adding mint

Just wondering if somebody has made a beer with a mint taste. I was thinking of coming up with a beer with a slight mint taste. I'm assuming I would add in the secondary. Need some options. Thanks in advance.

    Fermentation time

According to my lhbs Oberon is usually done in about 16-18 days. Meaning bottle/kegged. I asked the same question and that was the answer.

    First AG Day

Thanks. What about stirring when sparging? Also should I check the temp 30 minutes after the strike water was added?

    First AG Day

So I'm making the jump to AG. I'm brewing an Oberon clone that was put together by one of my lhbs with a beersmith printout. My equipment is; 10 gal SS brewpot, 7 1/2 gal SS brewpot, 10 gal rubbermaid round cooler w/false bottom, & a blichman burner. I've read alot and put together a list of...

    Hops in your recipe

I'm working on my first AG recipe. I'm aiming for a black IPA with New Zealand hops. Reason being is my lhbs is carrying the hops and is trying to turn people onto using them. Here is what my lhbs carries: Nelson Sauvin, Green Bullet, Motueka, Pacific Hallertau, Hallertau Aroma, & Pacific...

    The Dark Side

If I have to use the bigger pot than so be it. That's what I want to end up with is a black IPA. Just trying to make it my own for the most part. Thanks again.

    The Dark Side

Okay, so I'm taking my first shot at an AG recipe. Basically took the malt bill from one recipe and the hops from another. Not sure if this is a good idea. I want it to kind of be my own granted based on what I did as mentioned. I just purchased my equipment for all grain prior to that I've only...

    Cheaper to buy kits

That could be the case but I would rather support my lhbs. On another note I haven't brewed my first AG batch but as mentioned buying base malts in bulk saves money. What are some of the recommended base malts that would be good to have on hand?

    New Zealand hops

I'm getting ready to make my first ag recipe. Started out thinking an IPA but now it's going to be a black IPA. My lhbs has some New Zealand hops that they are trying brewers to try. Well since I'm into experiencing a little bit. What are some of the New Zealand hops that are available? Just...

Specialty IPA: Black IPA Darth Vader - Black IPA

Is it ok if I use the grain bill for the 5.5 gal AG but my lhbs has some New Zealand hops that I might try

My first recipe: A Winter Warmer

If I were you don't put equal amounts of cloves as the rest of the spices, put less. I did equal of spices for a pumpkin ale and it's very cloves forward.

    Stout Brew Kettles

Just wondering if the Stout Brew Kettles are worth the money. Currently do extract but will be moving to AG. Looking for equipment that's going to last. Am I better off buying equipment that will do 10 gal batches from the start meaning 10 gallons worth or beer or buy something that results...
