Brewing is my hobby and I love my hobby! The drinking is secondary to the brew day. I bottle and give half the beer to my son, but he's not as into beer these days. I'll usually have one after dinner on workdays and a couple a day on the weekends. When I have a high ABV or special beer...
I agree with this. I've only brewed kits and recipes. The few times I ventured outside, the results were ok but not stellar. Now I see a beer that looks interesting and look for tried and true recipes. Last year, BYO did a style article on grape ale. I found the ingredients online and...
I use BetMar for specialty grains and adjuncts. Checkout homebrewfinds.com for links to deals on grain. Morebeer.com runs specials where if you order 5 lb bags of grain you can get free shipping. You also get a price break if you order or more bags of the same grain. Sacks of grain don't...
We have all types and skills of brewers. It really helped my brewing to be a member. We always have beer to share at meetings and sit around and talk about beer and taste each others brew. Our next meeting is at River Rat.
Betmar is the only option In Columbia. We do have an active club at palmettostatebrewers.com. We meet the second Monday each month at various places and breweries. The website has the location of the meetings. We also host an annual competition which is next Saturday at Craft and Draft in Irmo...
I haven't checked in here for a bit. You have a couple of options. There is Bet-Mar on St Andrews Rd and DIY Brewhouse on Two Notch Rd in Elgin. DIY is run by a beer club member and past president. They both may be closed tomorrow afternoon due to the governor's order so call to make sure...
You plug the fridge into the controller and the controller into the wall. It has a temp probe you can tape to the side or into a thermowell and the controller turns power on/off to the fridge.
See post #7. It couldn't have been easier to setup. Watched the video on the website and set them up using the adjuster and attached them to the keg. I've got two beers on different settings from one regulator.
It’s nice when the wife asks what you want from Santa and you give her the flyer and website.
Setup was super easy and everything looks ok. I’ve got an Ordinary Bitter and Belgian on tap. Very different carb on each and one regulator on the tank.
I got these for Christmas. I’ll check back in after I get them rolling but I like the idea of being able to dial in different carb without the bulk of additional regulators. Looks very easy to set up.
