people might disagree but i use california ale yeast all the time, and it likes the mid to upper 60's the best. sounds like it may be a tad cold to me. i would take a gravity reading then bring the temp of the room up to mid 60s or move it to a warmer place.. give it a day or so then take another...
not at this stage, fermentation is already pretty much finished so it would of already settled back into the abient temperature of the room. if it was at the begining of fermentation that would be correct.
i believe muntons dry yeast ferments best at 64 to 70 degrees.I would just make sure your room temps are in that range and let it set for a couple more days. take another reading and if its constant i would go ahead and transfer to a secondary.give it a good week or so then bottle it. I probally...
I would just ferment in the bucket then siphon over to the plastic carboy after its done fermenting to clear the beer. adding the spigots in the fermenter just adds one more thing to clean. thats just my opinion alot of these guys use them.do yourself a favor and make sure that old plastic...
beer gas is designed for a stout faucet. no need to use it if your just bottling ur beer. you would need a widget to release the nitro into the beer when opening.I would just use your standard carbing method and youll be fine.standard co2.
no but you should shoot some star san or one step into them and just empty them out to sanitize them first. dont worry about being dry after that. bottle away. oh and congrats to you for entering the greatest hobby around. oh and have fun.
im assuming your putting this false bottom in your kettle so here are my concerns. when cutting this its gonna be hard to keep the shape perfect for a nice seal on the bottom and whether the holes are not oversized so they dont let a bunch of hops through. as for the non stick coating , if your...
just for future reference my lids for the ale pails i have bought never came with a rubber seal and never did seal right.I always got into the habit of using duct tape around the lid just to make sure.(because i like seeing bubbles)this fixed the problem and the airlocks always bubble this way...
i used to do this all the time with no issue. i just made the water coming into the second chiller, come in on the tube that goes to the bottom of the second chiller, that way the water pumps up the chiller so the chiller is always full of water that way. if that makes any sense.
