    House Rules for Brewing

Years ago I started talking to the yeast as they wake up. I use liquid yeast. Now I am getting my 4 yr old to talk to them. We say things like, 'wake up guys, we are going to make you very happy' and before pitching, 'have fun in there'. Silly things like that. Wife came in and apparently...

What beer do you still buy?

We do an interesting thing every Christmas. It started when my wife decided some 6 years ago to do a cookies exchange. It was only females and I had to make myself scarce. So the next year I said invite all the guys and we'll do a beer exchange in the man cave. Super success! Everyone...

What beer do you still buy?

Well I'll just go ahead and send a note just so I can hear the gasps. I love making beer and everything I have made has turned out wonderful. I like to drink craft beers but usually mine is better in my opinion. But, mowing the lawn on a 100 degree day or just needing some grown up koolaid...

    Pearland Texas Brewing

Is anyone up to a Pearland Brewday Thursday evening June 23rd? I would think BJ's on 518 might be a good spot.

    Pearland Texas Brewing

I have been using DeFalcos for about 14 years and always found them to be helpful. Their prices seem to be in line with others that I have checked.

Brewing when its hot as hell (Texas ?s)

I would agree, I just don't have the facility to keep it tan ideal temp right now. I just checked the temps on my primary's and found them to be 74.3...just under the 75 mark and it's nearing 100 outside. I also try to use recipes that allow for that higher range of fermentation. Another...

Brewing when its hot as hell (Texas ?s)

I have been doing wine for several years in Houston (Pearland) and just started beer again. My house stays about 74 and I just let it go at that. Why worry too much, it will turn into beer anyway. I just find a cooler dark place in the house and it seems to work just fine.
