    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just put Mobly99's Fat Dirty Blonde Honey revised recipe into the fermenter. Mash, boil, sparge all went perfect, nice and clean and efficient. Sure smells good, anxiously awaiting the tasting..... Thanks, Mobly99!!!!:mug:

    Carboy/ Keg Cleaner Giveaway

That looks pretty neat. Probably doesn't spray all over like pulling a brush out. Count me in.

    Grains getting into kettle

Don't sweat it. Let it settle out a bit before transferring to the fermenter. Won't be an issue.

    Stuck Sparge

Blow back into the drain hose. Not too vigorous or you might lift the false bottom with air and make it worse. I have done this on occasion and it got me going. May take a few tries.

Number of batches from 20lb propane tank.

I have never kept track. I guess it would depend on ambient temp and how vigorous of a boil you hold. You might try weighing the cylinder before and after, subtract to find the amount used and divide into 20lbs. I would guess at 6-8. :drunk:

    Chocolate Cherry Chipotle Porter

I used Shinglejohn's Cocoa Cayenne Porter recipe for the base (An excellent start, thank you ShingleJohn) https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f126/cocoa-cayenne-porter-173496/ Omitting the cayenne and vanilla. And added .5tbs of Chipotle powder, 1.5 tbs cocoa powder and 20 oz of cherries. I can...

    Chocolate Cherry Chipotle Porter

Well, 1 week in the primary, 2 weeks in the secondary with the cherries, chipotle and chocolate powder. Transferred to a third carboy to clear whatever trub I got from the second. Ready to keg. This tastes AWESOME! Can't wait to carbonate and age a bit in the keg. I am sure I will want to tweak...

    Chocolate Cherry Chipotle Porter

Great advice. I didn't even think of using canned cherries. Much less possible problems. I will do this all to the secondary as suggested, makes sense. Thanks very much. :mug:

    Chocolate Cherry Chipotle Porter

Yep, that will help a lot. Looks like a great recipe, I will have to try yours next time. What was the effect of the lactose? Thanks for your input. :mug:

    Chocolate Cherry Chipotle Porter

Thanks for the info. I am a big fan of the habanero and was thinking of some kind of habanero beer. Would kinda suck though, if you came home from work one day anticipating a cold beer but it was too hot to drink..... So you got good results with just 3 chipotles....... Anyone have...

    Chocolate Cherry Chipotle Porter

So I have this thought to try to brew a chocolate robust porter with cherry and chipotle tones. I am not sure if I want to add cocoa powder for the chocolate or let the grains do the talking. What I would like your ideas on is how and when to do the cherries and the chipotles. I could add...

    Chipotle IPA?

I did a Cave Creek jalapeno clone many years ago. Boiled a dozen jalaps, put the water in the boil pot along with the sparge. Boiled more fresh jalaps before bottling (just to sanitize) and put a pepper in each bottle. Actually came out very good. Your chipotle sounds interesting. Will be...
