    Low FG

That's a pretty low mash temp. The recipes usually predict an average that will vary depending on mash temperature and yeast strain used. I'd be happy with that FG for that beer!

    Old CO2

    I don't think CO2 gets old.

Whats more effective for hop aroma: boilling or Dry Hopping?

DRY HOPPING I normally skip the zero minute addition in favor of dry hops. Sometimes if I'm feeling generous, I'll also add zero minute additions, but if I had only two ounces left and I had to choose flameout or dry hop, I would choose dry hop without a doubt.

Beer fizzy when bottling - less sugar OK?

You should use the full amount of sugar. There's always some dissolved CO2 in there at bottling time.

    How much do you drink?

There's only two reasons I will have a beer: 1. I just got home from work. 2. I just finished a beer. Two reasons doesn't seem like too many. EDIT: Make that 3 reasons: 3. I didn't go to work today.

    Windows 8: One Hot Mess

Got a new computer from my parents for Xmas and its got windows 8. I was quite skeptical, having been a victim of vista, but it's actually pretty cool. Good combo of phone and pc in one. Kids took to it immediately and it just might get me to log back onto facebook. Maybe that's not such a good...

Might there be a beer I like?

Just wondering how a guy that doesn't like beer has over 300 posts on a beer making forum.

    Red IPA Attempt

IMO you need a lot more late hops. A quarter of an ounce of hops will disappear in 90 IBU. Assuming the Amarillo is a 20 minute flavor addition and the Cascade is a 5 minute addition as you mentioned, I would do an ounce of each, then cut down the Columbus as needed to hit your target IBU. Dry...

    A real fermentation problem!

I wouldn't add more yeast. Unless you're ready to brew right now, I'd wait and see. It should get started eventually. And obviously next time make a starter.

    hurricane brewing

Sandy is heading my way tomorrow. Managed to sneak in a brew session today. Obama's porter, an ipa, and apfelwein. Got a bit windy but only one leaf in the cooling wort. Btw I am in se ct but at a high enough elevation that I laugh at storm surge. Just looks like a big power outage to me.

Words that should never be in a beer's name

DFH had a Golden Shower Imperial Pilsner. They renamed it... for obvious reasons

    IBU question

Kind of a lot, but no big deal really. Live and learn.
