    New public varieties.

PM sent. Money won't be accepted (I wouldn't feel right about it). Other brewing related stuff, or a bottle of a homebrew is always welcome. :mug:

    New public varieties.

I have a year 2 sorachi ace that I have had to trim back a lot. I was able to give a couple rhizomes to a buddy in town (actually have a plants worth I could chop off now). Shipping them out is not something I want to deal with. If you are in the St. Louis area I am sure we can work out a...

    New public varieties.

I actually contacted Great Lake Hops and told them my situation (order canceled on me from cap n cork) and they did let me buy me one cashmere hop plant in mid/ late april. They were very adamant they just happen to have an extra one. It started really slow (multiple hail storms didn't help...

    New public varieties.

I was 99% sure that was the case and you have confirmed it for me. Looks like I will try again to find a cashmere hop plant next year.

    New public varieties.

I contacted Green Flora with the same answer of no US shipping. http://www.greenflora.ca/hop-plants/ If you look at their location, they are just across the border of Washington State. If you know someone that live nearby, they might be able to buy some and ship them out. I also found this...

    New public varieties.

Received the same email from capncork as well. After a lot of scrabbling on my end, it does not look good on finding Cashmere. Great Lake Hops does have Sorachi Ace, Tahoma and most of the Neomexicana varieties if people are looking for any of those.

    Has anyone grown Neomexicana hops?

    Has anyone grown Neomexicana hops?

Let me know how it does. I am planning on growing the neo-1 next season also in St. Louis.

    Paulasaurus's Hops Garden

I have a follow up question to your last response. With my 1st year hops, I am now getting new shoots that are popping up from the ground (1-5 shoots depending on the plant). I already have 2-4 bines coming up from each plant that are 8-11 feet tall. Should I trim the new shoots back? To...

    Hops Pirates

Simcoe and Mosaic would be my poison of choice. Maybe we get lucky and get a PM soon enough.

    Trimming back

For the size you are talking, I would say not to late. I am new to this as you are, so if someones says otherwise, I would listen to them. What I think would hurt them more would be trimming their roots at this time. If you cut those bines, more energy can be put to the bines that you want to grow.

    2014 Hop garden photo thread

First year grower, and I wanted to show some of the progress of hops here in the St. Louis area. First pic was taken on 4/27 and the 2nd was taken yesterday (5/12). From left to right Willamette, Centennial, and Zeus. I know the spacing is close, and I will be fighting that fight all season to...

    My 2014 hop garden

What's the type of twine did you use? From what it looks like you have 3 pieces twisted together.

Is this Hop Trellis design ok?

Instead of having to pull that lag screw at the end of each season, why not have the twine go down the back side of the pole and tie them off there. At the end of the season all you would need to do is tie a new line to the old one and lower your hops down. If for some reason the hops have...

    Trim back second year hops?

When a single Rhizome comes in a gallon size bag and it barely fits in it (in the shape of a horse shoe with roots attached), the line starts to blur a little. Especially when you have 8 shoot to choose from right now. A couple more popped up just yesterday. dirtyd90, Thanks. I only have two...
