Why only a 4500 w in the HLT? I use a 5500 w in my set-up, 15/15/20, and couldn't imagine using less power in a larger HLT...

The way I have been doing the whole brew process, is I fill my HLT full with water, then I fill my mash tun with the amount of water the recipe calls for. I set the temp. between 148-158, depending on what's being brewed. I turn on the recirculation pump, and that brings the mash tun up to temp...

I just picked up 8 cornies, and 1 20lb CO2 tank for $120 :rockin: Good thing they were not fellow brewers or they would have tried to charge me $240:drunk: I had to drive 30 miles away, into the country of another state,:o but when I got there they said hey we have this full 20lb. CO2 tank too...

Its the 809 HS 120v. When I power it on with the head off, it just hums, I try to spin it by hand, and it will turn, but not on its own. I feel some resistance turning it by hand...It worked fine when I brew 2 weeks ago, I went to brew tonight, and now it won't work. Luckily I can brew with just...

Ya, the motor will spin by hand, but not on its own. Won't turn with the head off, power on. Haven't run it dry. It work fine when I got it, so I believe its wired correctly, otherwise it would have never worked.

One of my March pumps crapped out on me. I hear a faint buzz from the motor, but the motor won't spin. I took it a part, no clogs. It's new and only been used a few times. It came pre-wired, so the wiring should be fine. Any ideas?

I know it's a well known problem, I have read about it before. I just use them as a reference, but it would be nice if they just worked properly considering the price I paid. I just emailed them about it, and am awaiting a response.

Is the problem with the brewometer constantly sticking and needing to be tapped to get a proper reading, being fixed?

Hmm, I wonder what it is? I can't find any info. I don't have any apparent problems with mine.

I just use a silicone hose that rests on the grain bed, and batch sparge.
