I bottled my first batch of kombucha on Friday. I decided to do a second step ferment, adding some juice and letting it sit on the counter for 2 days to carbonate it a bit more. I put this jar in the fridge today, and opened it to find something growing on it! Is it mould? Is it safe...
This is my very first batch of kombucha. It's only been brewing for a week, but it's starting to smell a bit vinegary. Anyways, my concern: it started growing a baby scoby on top, but there are dark spots on it, verging on black. Picture attached.
