    Hood for inline fan

I'd say it depends on what's more important to you. It will be cheap and it will work but like BeardedBrews says, it will look funky. There's an exhaust fan here, https://mobilehomepartsstore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=250251 That I installed and had a tin knocker friend...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

In my 8 years of brewing I started with a borrowed 10 gallon pot, than a BIAB keggle and than a 3 vessel 30 gallon propane setup. And now this. Same 30 gallon pots but all electric now. The one in my profile pic. If I had known back then, what I know now, I could have saved a lot of money. I...

    Bags inside a steamer basket?

I used to do BIAB using a keggle. I had to use a basket since the top of the keg wasn't open enough to remove the bag. The basket kept it confined to the opening size. Work very well.

Moving from Induction to a Controller/Element - Wiring Question

The 6-20P that you had installed is good for 20 amps. Your IC3500 draws less than 15 amps so you are fine. That adapter would allow you to plug in something that could draw 30 amps. Your outlet is not rated that high. I don't know what system you intend to plug in but as long as it's below 20...

Round / "Halo" Electric Elements w TriClamp or NPT Thread?

I recently converted to electric and agree that I want my whirlpool is not interfered with by elements. So I built this. I use 30 gallon pots. 2- 5500 ULWD elements that simply lift out after the boil.

    Propane to Electric

Thanks but I've already ordered 2 SSVR's and a dual pot. The Dual pot is already installed on my panel. As for the REX C700's, I probably have Chinese knock offs too. (They were $11.00 each). Instructions were very difficult to understand and some of the functions don't work at all. Such as...

    Control Panel Advice Needed

LOL, yes. I wanted to try it out but these, https://ebrewsupply.com/collections/elements-diy/products/1-5-tri-clamp-element-housing-ripp were not in yet.

    Control Panel Advice Needed

You are absolutely correct! I enjoyed the built so much I may make another for a friend. I did expect to save money and believe I built a panel that is not available for what I have in it. Also, my panel has functions I haven't seen offered on any other panel. I did make some mistakes that cost...

    Control Panel Advice Needed

Well I guess I'm not explaining correctly. I see 4 plugs here. You may call it 2, but there's 2 male plugs and 2 female plugs at $25 each. So $100 to plug in my 2 BK elements. There's 4 more at the HLT. However you see it, it's $200 just for plugs. I do not have plugs at both ends. Obviously...

    Root Beer *hard*

If you put the bottles in 170 degree F water you will get the effect. I think a PBW wash followed by a Star San immersion will get you the same results.

    Control Panel Advice Needed

I have 4 elements. 2 in the Hot Liquor Tank and 2 in the Brew Kettle. So 4 male and 4 female plugs, (8 total), at $25 each. I wouldn't want to deal with cleaning my pots without a way to disconnect the elements, if you're suggesting hard wiring directly to the control panel? And yeah, guess you...

    propane to electric kettle question

Is there a reason you're not considering the weldless fittings? I used TRUE Weldless 1.5" TC Bulkheads @$24 each from brewhardware.com I bought a cheap 13 piece set of carbide hole saws on Amazon for $33.

    Control Panel Advice Needed

I just completed my panel build and conversion to electric. I expected to get it done for around $500 but ended up spending $1,050. Things like twist lock plugs, $25 each and you need 8, and a lot of little items added up fast. I also made drop in dual elements so they wouldn't interfere with...

    Propane to Electric

Wasn't sure if you were asking about my panel or Drumminguy81. I built my own.

    Propane to Electric

So are you wiring the pot to the SSR as you would a SSVR?
