I want some info on coffee roasting

I realized I wasn't a fan of homeroasting. But having purchased from Sweet Marias a few times, they have my nod. Great product selection, fast shipping. They aren't the best on price but to have your entire order in the same box the difference isn't important.

What OS are you currently using

Make it simpler. :) He's a Dell user, show him a DELL site with Linux PCs. :) Dell Home & Home Office | Ubuntu I used to be a DIEHARD Debian user. I blogged about it when I moved to Ubuntu. My needs have changed, so has my distro. - Monochrome Mentality Currently running a...

Are you dressing up for Halloween?

My wife and I are going to a drunk/eat/smoke fest this halloween so it's the first time I dressed up for Halloween since I wore my peewee football equipment in 5th grade. She's going as a serving wench, and in keeping with the "be something you're not normally" theme, she's being the designated...

    I hate computers

I was referring to applications more than regular files. Like Word docs travel just fine, but to move your install of WORD to a different computer... Wacky. :P There's registry entries and stuff that have to go too. Some applications move just fine, but the vast majority of common ones don't.

    Linux Mint?

My wife's system runs Linux Mint using the Gnome version. My personal opinion is that it's a bit too buggy. Flash crashes a lot more on Ubuntu than it does on Debian. It seems to crash a lot more on Mint than it does on Ubuntu itself.

Dry yeast or not Dry yeast that is the question!

There are a lot of strong opinions each way. It's really a matter of opinion. My opinion is that with the most commonly used varieties, mainly for British and American ales, dry yeast provides a great flavor profile and offers the price advantage. It's also a bit easier to store, which is a...

    I hate computers

I'm not trying to troll, I'm being pretty honest here. Firstly, I didn't know what he means by "a new CP" - I asked for clarification on that point. What I did next was give one reason why Windows sucks - namely that data migration (as it seems the original poster is trying to do) is more...

    I hate computers

It doesn't, though a lot of applications specifically set registry values and things like license keys so that you can't move the application around. They do this, more often than not, to force you to buy a new copy if your computing environment changes.

    I hate computers

I'm lost, what's a CP? And don't blame computers. It's just Windows that sucks. If it didn't, you'd just copy your files and be done. Instead, with Windows you have to do all kinds of convoluted crap to migrate your full system from one drive to another. You even have to replace drives...

Two Batches, No Carb - Priming Pitch?

Now that you said you added 4 ounces, I decided to run it. The calculations are about right for an American Pale Ale (the calculator gives a suggestion of like 4.1 oz) but for an English Bitter it gives 0.4 ounces. That difference would CERTAINLY be enough to produce flat beer, so I'm thinking I...

Two Batches, No Carb - Priming Pitch?

I've bottled two batches using the Tastybrew priming calculator with dextrose from my LHBS.Neither of the brews carbonated much after several weeks at room temps. In fact, other than very slight sediment which may be yeast or may be random crap from the brews, it doesn't appear to have done much...

bars that need a web site

That's one site that I think would seriously benefit from Flash ads done in audio.

    Metallica

Most of this thread is a Metallica bash, and I admit, they're not very high on my list of bands. Anyway... It was leaked on my local rock station yesterday and confirmed by me this morning that Hot Topic is selling the CD for $5, today only. It could suck totally and I still wouldn't feel...

    Operating System Geekery

Why? Is it just because you think you don't have enough resources (512 MB of RAM or more is usually what I'd recommend) or because your processor doesn't support one of the virtualization suites? If it's the processor, you don't need anything special. KVM uses those processor instruction...
