    Brewing out of Maryland

Olney is right down the street from me. Might have to check it out. Very interesting! Brookeville is really nice. The Brookeville Beer Farm is great. Also Elder Pine is awesome. Around the same area.

    No Head in my beer

Let it sit and condition outside of the refridgerator longer. Kits will tell you to let it condition for 2 weeks, but it can take up to 4 weeks to fully carbonate

    Make IPA Clear Again

I love IPA's and I recently made a great NEIPA. Matter of fact, it ended up being on of my best beers. But yes I have gotten a bit tired of the tropical IPAs and the NEIPA style. I recently made an IPA with only Warrior hops and it came out great. Nothing tropical about it. Just old school and...

Willamette Hops: What do you use them in?

I like to use them for porters and stouts. You can use the for English Ales as well.

    Brewing out of Maryland

Happy Brewing All. I have been brewing for a little over a year now. Started with just beer kits for maybe the first 6 months. Now I have branched out and started making my own recipes. Love every minute of it and constantly have 2 brews in fermenters and 1 conditioning. Have made some great...

    Question about caps sealing

Also are you reusing older bottles? If the mouth of the bottle has gunk on it your caps wont sit properly and can cause the leak

    Question about caps sealing

There shouldnt be any hissing coming out of the bottle. It should be airtight. You either have bad caps or malfunctioning capper. I would probably try some new caps first since it's cheaper and if that doesnt work then you will need to buy a capper

    First ever home brew

Welcome to homebrewing! I started a year ago. If you are anything like me you will constantly be planning your next brew day. I bought a couple extra fermenting buckets and usually have a beer in the fermentor and a beers conditioning in bottles at all times. Made about 10 beers my first year...

    My own recipe

Hops do not need to be sterilized. They have antimicrobial properties in them. It is ok to just toss in the fermentor even for dry hopping. But, if you choose to dry hop in a muslin bag, then you will need to sanitize the muslin bag, but the hops will not need to be sanitized.
