Orange juice to lower mash PH?

Thank you all for the comments! Sounds like most of you agree that this will probably give negative affects to the beer. I guess I'll look for some other creative way to lower mash PH (:

Orange juice to lower mash PH?

Out of stock ): Also in the description it says something about skin peel. Not sure if this is food grade.

Orange juice to lower mash PH?

What do you mean by 'may not produce the results you intend'? Off flavors? Not lowering PH?

Orange juice to lower mash PH?

Hi everyone, I am thinking of trying to use some good old fresh squeezed orange juice to try and lower my mash PH. I'm guessing some of you reading this might wonder why am I even thinking of this. Well, I live in Israel, and the water in my area is super hard, and home brewing here isn't as...

    Head retention problems ):

I just thought of one more thing, do you think shaking the fermenter before fermentation in order to aerate the wort could also benefit to the same problem?

    Head retention problems ):

I don't know if I have the patience to wait that long haha. But I will definitely NOT shake the keg next time and I will just leave it on 20-30 psi for a few days. Thanks for all the comments guys!

    Head retention problems ):

It was only 10 days in the fermenter and since I moved it to the keg about a month ago and until today there is no head ):

    Head retention problems ):

Do you think it could be a water chemistry thing?

    Head retention problems ):

You know... that's quite interesting because the first poor from my beer (30 min after shaking) it had a much better head, so maybe there is something in this theory. I will definitely try this next time, thank you!

    Head retention problems ):

Hi guys, Iv'e been brewing for about 3 years now and my beers usually come out very good, flavor wise, but I never get a good head on the beer. Iv'e tried everything Iv'e read online: 1. Adding some Carapils or Caramels. 2. Adding some proteins from wheat or oats. 3. Increasing carbonation...

    Green hop flavor

Hi guys, I just brewed my first NEIPA and I put a lot of hops in it (12 oz in 5.5 gallon batch). I noticed a "green" hop flavor, like if you just tasted raw hop pellets. I dry hopped once during early fermentation and once more in the keg. The beer is quiet young (about 2 weeks) so I'm thinking...

    trub in keg

I actually did cold crash it for like 3 days. But because I'm a genius I put the hose to low and it got to the trub on the bottom. I don't have another keg to transfer to so I don't think I will shorten the dip tube. I think I'll just wait a while and hopefully most of the trub will come out the...

    trub in keg

I sure do hope so. Do you think I should not touch it at all during that week?

    trub in keg

Hi guys, I brewed my first NEIPA two weeks ago and kegged yesterday. When I was transferring the beer I accidentally sucked up a nice amount of trub and hop particles (I'm guessing around a cup) and obviously when I poured me a glass it had a lot of hop particles and probably a nice amount of...
