    I added some braggs Apple cider vinegar to my last batch and my scobys grew quickly. Maybe your brew is off balance.

    It could be carbonation/carbon dioxide bubbles coming through? Mine look bubbely, but they keep getting thicker slowly. I would give it more time and see what it turns to.

    I am making my second batch brew of KT. It's about 2 weeks in. Baby Scoby is about 1/8 - 1/4inch thick. My mother scoby sank to the bottom immediately and has stayed there. The baby scoby on top appears to have a second filmy scoby(?) hanging from underneath it. Seems weird. Should I be...

    Moving the SCOBY during fermentation

    Unless you have a huge scoby, I think it will take a lot longer than your one gallon batch. I new to the whole works too.

    fallen scoby

    I checked my kt today. I pushed a straw down past the edge of the scoby and drew some liquid out. Anyway now it has fallen/sunk at least halfway to the bottom of the container. Should I be concerned? Will a new layer form on top again or might this one rise up again? Thoughts?

    From what I have read it will just ferment slower if it is colder. I have found that my TV stand is the warmest place in my house with the cable box/DVR and DVD player in there. I moved my KT there after the first 4 days and it seems to be doing good. It's dark enough in there. I open the doors...

Is it possible/okay to bottle it in store bought kombucha bottles (such as GT Dave/synergy with the white plastic cap)...
