Changing up a 1 Gallon kit

Thanks, think I'll probably go with the Mandarina and see how that turns out. I'll probably go with 2.5-3g at 15 minutes before FO and see how that goes.

Changing up a 1 Gallon kit

I forgot all about the Hallertau, I like that idea. Sorry to sound like a newb, but would you add them at around 10-15 minutes prior to FO to add flavor and not so much just the aroma? Edit: does anyone have any experience with the German Mandarina Bavarian hops? After doing some research, they...

Changing up a 1 Gallon kit

So I just brewed my third 1 Gallon batch (NB Dead Ringer IPA). I plan on brewing another 1 Gallon batch of Hefeweizen once my Chinook IPA goes to the bottles. Here is what I'm looking for. I want to try to change it up a bit. The NB Hefeweizen kit calls for 3.5g of German Perle Hops. I was...

    1 Gallon Batch Secondary

So I have 1 Gallon of the Chinook IPA fermenting right now, and will be brewing the Dead Ringer IPA 1 gallon kit afterwards. My question is that with the 5 gallon batch, it is recommended to transfer it to secondary for 2-4 weeks. I plan to leave the Chinook (the same with the Dead Ringer once...

1st Batch is in the Carboy, opinions VERY welcome

Ok awesome, thanks very much for the help. I've been thinking about getting a 7gal chest freezer to insulate my brews since the temp isn't too high and I only need to drop the temp a few degrees to get it in the ideal range.

1st Batch is in the Carboy, opinions VERY welcome

For my temperature readings, I've been getting them from the Fermometers on my carboys. Should I assume that there is a 4-5 degree temp difference from the reading and actual temp, or are they assumed to be fairly accurate?

1st Batch is in the Carboy, opinions VERY welcome

Ok, I put a fan in the area to keep cool air going to the carboys and think I might go pick up a tupperware container to keep them in a few inches of cool water. Thanks for the tips. I kept a lot of notes on the 2 brews I made Sunday, so if something is off, I should have a pretty decent of...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Got started yesterday with a bang. First brew ever was the NB Bavarian Hefe, it's on the right. Later, I decided to brew the NB Chinook IPA, it's obviously on the left(process of elimination). Both are fermenting away. I'm pretty excited. Right now, I'm planning to let the Hefe ferment for 8-9...

    Thanks For Having Me

Well, I got the order backwards, and fired off a question in the Beginners forum before I came here, so hope I don't get too flamed for that haha. That being said, had been interested in home brewing for a while, and after I talked to an instructor about it, I decided to pull the trigger...

1st Batch is in the Carboy, opinions VERY welcome

First off, sorry for not posting in the Introductions first, I just got home from Germany early this morning. So to get to the point, I bought all of the equipment/ small batch kits while I was gone, and decided after unpacking it all, I'd clean everything, then knock out my first brew. So...
