    Northeast PA homebrewers!

Stroudsburg checking in. You're right, there isn't much else to do here but drink.

    Nexium sucks.

I'll second the prilosec suggestion. It is available both OTC and prescription. My doc started me on Nexium, which worked OK. My insurance company stopped covering it, so I tried the OTC prilosec (actually the much cheaper generic from Target) and find that it works better than Nexium ever did.

    Mechanical Engineers

Not much. I was worried about the same thing while in college. I was just good enough to get by in most of my math classes. But now I work for da gubmint :rockin: and hardly use any of it. I'll pull out some basic statistics from time to time, but most of my work is project management and...

WTF: Help me understand this recent cultural phenomena

I hate those stupid "no-spill" gas can spouts! They shoot the gas out sideways. How is that NOT going to spill and splash? Never seemed to have a problem with spilling my gasoline until those came out.

Most famous person from your high school

Apparently I went to the same high school as PearlJamNoCode, but the only one I knew about was John Cappelletti.:drunk:

    Anyone Local

Used to live in Drexel Hill. The guy at Brew your own beer on Darby Road is great. He's amazingly helpful. His stock is just ok, but he'll order anything you want. Now my closest store is the Keystone in Bethlehem. Great selection there, and I assume the Montgomeryville location is just as...

Coming to Minn/St Paul. Beer suggestions anyone?

The Town Hall Brewery has a fantastic scotch ale. I highly reccomend it.

    Saaz in an Ale?

It seems like saaz is reserved for lagers only. I think in all my searches I've only seen one ale recipe that uses it. Any particular reason for this? I was thinking I could probably make something really light and refreshing, somewhere in the pale ale / light lager range, using some saaz...

    Water Questions

I have similar water. It's from a well that has lots of iron and hydrogen sulfide. Once it passes through the iron filter and softener, it's ok water to drink. I've brewed many extract and partial mash batches with this and they turn out just fine. I've not yet tried it with all-grain. I...

    Lancaster Brewing Milk Stout

I was just there a few weeks ago. We had a tour from the restaraunt manager. He was less knowledgeable than a brewmaster would be, but I think he told us some stuff a brewmaster would never admit to. He told us the bottling machine messes up at about every 4th bottle! The employees get to...

How does SWMBO feel about your hobby/obsession?

She's ok with it becaues it's not internet porn and it's not guns. But, she's not into beer at all. It's my hobby and alone time. I think she gets annoyed with how obsessed I get, and sometimes with how drunk I get.:drunk:

    Is Austin homebrew site down?

Haha! I'm with you there. I use firefox at home. But at work, I'm not messing with the IT folks. Even though firefox is probably pretty good, more programs means more vulnerabilities, and we take that very seriously.
