    5gal FB in a 10gal

I am fly sparging. I had come to the same conclusion. It would "technically" work, but would not be as efficient due to all the grain sitting on the sides of the of the FB not getting used. Thanks mmb!

    5gal FB in a 10gal

I searched but couldn't find anything. Right now I am using a 5gal cooler conversion as my mash tun with a 9" SS false bottom and spigot. My friend has gone to keggles and doesn't need his 10gal cooler anymore. I was just wondering if my 9" FB would work in a 10gal, or if I would have to...

    Fermentation and ABV woes

I had it in the fermenter 6 days and the krausen had fallen. Then I pulled it and racked it to secondary where I usually leave it for another 10-14 days before bottling. I started to think the lower temps might have had something to do with it on my last brew, but just wrote it off as bad...

    Fermentation and ABV woes

I hit 1.050 down to 1.004 the first time I made it at 72 degrees in my closet, and then in the freezer i went from 1.052 to only 1.020 at 63 degrees. I wanted to cool down the fermentation to lower the esters. I may stop today...

    Fermentation and ABV woes

Just finished my 4th batch and I'm having problems getting my ABV up and I'm not sure why. I'm doing all grain and my first brew, an American Wheat, was fantastic. I used my friends equipment and fermented in a closet at 72 degrees. I then bought my own equipment and did a Cali Common in a...

    Spigot Question

Dumb question but I bought this http://www.homebrewhq.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=2059 and not sure where the o-ring should be. Right now I have it on the outside because it looks like it had a spot that is not threaded and I hear they seal better not being on threads. It's not leaking...

    Brewhauler vs Star San

I'll give it a shot. I'm thinking that diluted with water it shouldn't do anything. I haven't been able to find any other instances where star san effected poly
