    I'm brewing now 10 gallons of Edworts Pale ale. I also have a 5 gallon batch of skeeter pee I started yesterday I'll be pitching the yeast later tonight. I kegged 2 5 gallon batches of ipa yesterday. Been a busy couple days for me.

    Personally I just say use DME to make starters. Are you really saving enough $ to make it worthwhile? Plus the low but possible risk? If you want to use your wort how about keep doing what you do now but as soon as its cool make a slightly oversized starter. After the starter is done cold crash...

    It takes longer than 3 days to carb a beer. At 7 the co2 hasn't had enough time to 'become one' with the beer. That's probably why it gushed. Try 3 weeks in bottle and a few days in the fridge before you crack open another.

    What was the fg of yours? I'm sitting at 1.023 using wlp007. Sound about right? Also og was 1.061.

    Yeah my bad I plugged the numbers in wrong in Beersmith. 3 ounces at 60 minutes will barely put you into IPA territory.

    I'd up the 60 minute edition up to 2 ounces. That will put you in the IBU range for an IPA.

    That's what I brewed today. Grain bill was exact but subbed magnum and wlp007. The wort smelled so good.

    I don't have any store around than I can get a 50lb sack from. For me morebeer works the best. Shipping is something like $12 for a sack. Normally though I just do their free shipping with the $59 order requirement. 10lb bags fall under the free shipping. I pay a little more per lb but I also...
