    Just bottled my porter

Just bottled my first batch, a porter. Starting gravity of 1.044 final of 1.019. Around 4% abv as near as I can figure in my head. I primed with 3/4 cup corn sugar and I am hoping beyond all hope that it will be carbonated in a little under two weeks for the Super Bowl. I've even made a...

My First beer at 15 days post brew.

I have one of each. I had never considered brewing in the spigot bucket

My First beer at 15 days post brew.

Today was the first time I had opened it up since brew day. I opened it up to get a hydrometer sample. Is there a way to get a sample without opening it?

My First beer at 15 days post brew.

I am brewing a porter with this recipe. It has been fermenting 15 days at about 68 degrees. It has dropped from 1.044 to 1.022. The airlock hasn't bubbled since the second day, but when I was watching the beer just now, there were bubbles steadily rising in the bucket. There was an oily film...

Best label type for a cooler full of ice

I live in a small apartment and don't have room for a second fridge, so when I have parties a cooler of ice is how I keep large amounts of beer cold. I'd like my guests to be able to pull the beers out without the labels looking like garbage. What type of labels have you found that are able to...

Printing at Kinkos; Sticking with Milk

I see that as a disadvantage. I was hoping they would be able to handle it. I live in a small apartment and don't have room for a second fridge, so when I have parties a cooler of ice is how I keep large amounts of beer cold. I'd like my guests to be able to pull the beers out without them...

Labels for my first two batches

Awesome labels. How you hid the blonde's naughtier bits is quite amusing, even if i find her lack of them slightly off setting ;-)

    My First Cider Label!

It looks good. If you want to give drawing on your computer a try I recommend Inkscape. Its a free program and there are some good tutorials for it at learndigitaldesign.com. I am terrible at drawing and between the program and tutorials I've put together some stuff I am proud of. BTW, what...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I apologize if these questions have been answered already, but 721 pages is quite a read. I plan on making a batch of this within the next month and letting it age till thanksgiving/christmas to use as gifts and drinks for special events. 1. I don't have a kegging set up, is there any way...

Airlock bubbled for less than 24 hours

My airlock only bubbled for less than 24 hours. Is this something that is wrong or is that normal? The beer is a porter with a SG of 1.044 that I pitched with a Wyeast Activator British Ale yeast.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Would wyeast british ale yeast be a good choice for this recipe?

    Graham's English Cider

I think i am going to start a batch of this either in 3 weeks or in february to give as christmas gifts to everyone but my alcohol hating in-laws next year.

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

Technically the ancients didn't even know about yeast. It was wild yeast that did the fermenting. I think i will give this recipie a shot none the less :-)
