Just lost my second 10 gal batch to fruit flies, days before kegging

Well, kegged it up today, it had an off taste but some of that may have been in my head. There was a couple dozen floating on top and I really couldn’t tell how many were in the trub on the bottom. I’ll just try to drink it up ASAP. Thanks for the tips, I think that’s the last time I use that...

Just lost my second 10 gal batch to fruit flies, days before kegging

Well I wanted a larger fermentor, had read a lot of posts saying no problem with loose lid buckets. Tried it the first time almost a year ago, had to leave town, when I got back it was a fruit fly frenzy. Did some more reading, thought to myself if I put out a few apple cider vinegar traps it...

Just lost my second 10 gal batch to fruit flies, days before kegging

Just very sad to announce this, but I think I’ve learnt my lesson.i should’ve never went with a loose lid bucket, and just stuck with my other Carboys and air locks. Only my second attempt with this bucket, this time I thought apple cider vinegar would possibly keep them from getting to my beer...

    First Keg and carbing issues

Whenever the pressure is above serving pressure (10-12psi) it'll do that, if u force carb u have to relieve the pressure before pouring otherwise it'll foam Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Are my carboys ruined??

Had similar happen to me, not to that extent though. I didn't have any vinegar in the house, just ended up filling with hot water, the next day was good to go again Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Newbie Kegerator problems.... Please Help

I always get good pours. Be careful with leaving your co2 at a low psi you will lose carbonation, unless if you like low carb.

    Newbie Kegerator problems.... Please Help

With store bought kegs, I find I have to release the pressure in the keg with the pressure relief and then add pressure to it. Then it pours nicely

    I pulled the trigger today

That's funny last sept, my wife picked me up the Costco Danby just so I wouldn't have beer bottles filling a room. I thought it was an excellent deal for me. Now u will start to learn quite quickly that 2 kegs is no where near enough! I now have 7 and I am always watching for more

    Kegerator produces all foam

Any chance at that low of a temp u r causing your lines to start to frost up or even starting to freeze the bottom of your keg?

CO2 Tank Refill in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

So far in pg I've only been able to get fills at welding gas shops (praxair) but you may need to use a business name and pay cash. And remember it is not for human consumption when they ask, they can't legally fill if u say it is. Also it is not all that cheap $45 for a 5#. Hope that helps

    Cleaning corny kegs between batches

I was just cleaning to keg just my second batch by keg. I've always taken apart and cleaned and sanitized absolutely everything while I was bottling but I'm curious, does everyone also break corny's right down, or is it to much of a concern that an o ring will become damaged when you are about...

CO2 Leak - Can I use pipe joint compound?

Pipe thread compound and Teflon is both for lubricating threads, sealing is always in the threads, not in the Teflon or pipe dope. When u soap tested, did u foam the soapy water mix up into bubbles and apply just the bubbles to all joints? That works the best for finding leaks- not the soapy...

How much do you pay for a CO2 tank? Refill?

Where I am in Canada, it cost me a little over $40 for a 5# refill. But it cost pretty the same for a 20# refill.
