I have some of that black malt and roasted. I like that idea of adding a bit to the mash. Thanks guys. This site is great could not live without it. Unless my keg was full then I could last a while.
The hops sound good, I did my BIPA with a half oz of cascade in secondary.
As for the malt I had used 6.6 amber dme and a pound of black malt. This gave the beer about 5% abv and very refreshing on these summer days. The keg emptied very fast.

I'm like most here drinking only one or two pints a day. But when the weekend come and no work then it goes up to 6-10 the higher if the guys are over.
You should not panic much over seeing the airlock bubble. As long as you have sanitized everything then things will be fine. Every beer is drinkable, just some I won't. enjoy the start to your brewing
I had a batch that started out 1.040 O.G. And it ended up with a 4% abv after bottling. It was one of my better tasting brews so don't give up on a batch until you see the bottom of the glass.
I would first say you will not want to get a motorcycle less than 500cc as you will get bored of the starter bike (250cc). But if the budget will get you into riding then get it but be warned that next year you will be shopping for a bigger and better bike.

I've been using coopers amber lme 3.3lbs as a base and muntuns dme 3lbs ( light, amber, dark ) whatever you prefer and 1lbs of specialty grains steeped for colour and flavour. Hops and amounts depending on your tastes. Making some fine tasting brews around 5% abv
Well since you are just starting out a carboy is more expensive so I suggest that you just pick up a couple more brewing buckets. They are much cheaper and then you can get the next batch started and experiment with leaving in primary or moving to secondary. What are you making?
hey thanks for all the info on here guys now its time to head out to the brew shop and see what i can find. I really enjoy an IPA and it seems many of you do also so that will be my next brew.
So I'm interested in doing a lot of brewing, I started brewing from extract. And am now into doing a partial mash and have tried some Cascade hops, and that Amber ale turned out great... So my question is...
