Emptied my first keg. Line and tap cleaning?

I see that there are products that say I should “mix and pump through the lines and tap”. Other people recommend dissembling and soaking. Any suggestions and products ideas would be appreciated. The lines are not “stained “ and the tap doesn’t leak. I built a kezzer last year and I will need to...

    Regulator problem?

When I filled the tank and hooked it up it read almost the same as it does now. I was under the impression that cold co2 would be more likely to show lower pressure than say room temperature co2. I didn’t worry about it. I have closed the tank valve and dumped the pressure on the manifold and...

    Regulator problem?

I carved two tap handles and waiting on a cypress knee for the third. I looked at several videos online and this is what I came up with. Not sure about the rear sealing tap. The offender was the far left black plastic handle.

    Regulator problem?

No gas no liquid. Once I increased the co2 pressure to 12 pounds the regulator started chirping and I got beer flow. I started with rebuilt kegs. I replaced all o rings and have checked for leaks several times. I fixed all I found. New build and I am trying to get it right. I just don’t have any...

    Regulator problem?

Thanks for the reply. The keg had no pressure. I should have explained better but didn’t want to write a mini novel. I have a cream ale, a Dortmunder and a nut brown ale. The cream ale and Dortmunder poured fine but the nut brown was a bit foamy when poured at 12 pounds. I reduced the co2 to 10...

    Regulator problem?

I have been using for a month or so. The beer line does not look like it was frozen. It was almost like it had blown dry. I have a small fan on the bottom of the Keezer blowing up. I taped my ink bird probe to the bottom 1/3 of the middle keg. Temp is mostly steady +- 2 degrees.

    Regulator problem?

I built a Keezer this summer and I made 3 batches of ale to keep on tap. Last night I had an issue that was kinda strange. I poured a glass of ale and the keg wouldn’t give any more. I pulled the prv and n pressure in the keg. Guage on regulator still at set point of 10 pounds. All valves open...

    Full corny keg storage question

I live in coastal Louisiana so I believe that fridge cold storage was my best option.

    Full corny keg storage question

One of the considerations I am taking into account is it’s only me who drinks beer. The wife isn’t much of a drinker. Folks come by occasionally but not much more that that. I have a glass or two a day. Hell I was just tired of washing bottles. I have a couple hundred grolsh bottles that I have...

    Full corny keg storage question

Thanks for your replys. If I use priming sugar in the keg I would leave the keg at room temperature for a couple weeks to allow fermentation to complete before storing in the fridge at 36 degrees, right?

    Full corny keg storage question

After homebrewing for fotry years using bottles I have built a keezer and purchased 5 pin lock corny kegs. I brewed 3 batches and they are all three in the keezer under going forced carbonation. Keezer is now full. Now my question, If I make more beer to use the other two kegs what would be the...

    Extract equivalent in grain?

In general what would be an equivalent amount of liquid malt per pound of grain? I am trying to use supplies I have to craft a recipe. I guess a better way to ask would how many pounds of grain to make one pound of liquid malt that would result in equal sg?

    Recertified CO 2 Cylinder

I purchased a recertified co2 cylinder. When it arrived I checked to see if the new valve was open or closed. The valve was hand tight in the cylinder. I realize that it was pretty just overlooked by whomever put it together. My question is first should I wrap the valve threads with Teflon tape...

    Bad advise?

My 45 year old daughter ask for a beer brewing starter kit for her birthday! I was more than happy to comply. She lives in Canada in the Ottawa area. I found a brew shop and told her to call me when she got to the store. I purchased a starter kit with almost everything she needed. I told her to...
