Those are crazy deals, congrats and welcome. Join the "Picobrewers" group on Facebook to get some important tips that work better than the instruction say!

There are a few folks on the "Picobrewers" FB group who can provide those codes. I'd go online and ask. I also wouldn't be surprised for another round of specials after Thanksgiving.

Not back sweetening, do I need campden for bottling if using priming sugar?

Since I can't figure out how to delete and repost... Thanks Yooper...clearly I'm still learning. But I'm looking for help on my original issue. If I'm not back sweetening...but, I AM, adding priming sugar to carb, do I need to worry about stopping fermentation to avoid bottle bombs? If so...

Not back sweetening, do I need campden for bottling if using priming sugar?

My first go at a simple dry cider recipe. I don't plan on back sweetening before bottling, but was going to add some priming sugar for carbonation. Do I need to stop fermentation with campden or other method so any residual yeast doesn't react with it and create bottle bomb issues? Just a bit...

AIH lists them on their site, but haven’t actually seen them in stock. I just emailed them. Perhaps if a few of us did they may push to get them in stock for the holidays? https://www.homebrewing.org/AIH-New-3-Gallon-Corny-Keg-Ball-Lock_p_7515.html

Agreed on Best Buy and Amazon. I’m pretty sure you get more ‘freshly packed’ Paks from Pico, whereas who knows how long they’ve sat when getting getting from Pico to a 3rd party wharehouse to home. I don’t think there is a freshness issue as the two I’ve brewed from Amazon where just fine...

I’ve taken the advice of others to give the PicoPaks a really good shake. The grain tends to settle during shipping, and that has caused dry spots (something I’ve experienced). Loosing the grain up really helps the water saturate and should help bump up your OG.

Thoughts on when it might hit the marketplace? Would be great to have ready for Christmas when family hits town!

A couple of tips on your first batch that you can get from the FAQ in the Facebook group I recommended. Only pitch 1/2 to 1 TSP of yeast. Don't pitch the full packet. That's meant for five gallons and can create taste issues. Also, ferment for twice as long as instructions say. Most of us...

Yeah, sorry to hear that. Just another data point that support should know about. One tip, if you push that valve from the inside, it will extend out and give you access to the grain that builds up. I've found a combo of a toothpick and blasts of water from the sink will clear it out.

Agreed with this post. It really comes down to your personal needs and how much $$ and how much spend. I’d say brew a batch with your current system before making any big decisions. But, yes, if you plan on keeping a batch over a few weeks, you’ll want a regulator to keep C02 on it. The...

That sounds really interesting, though I’m a bit reticent given issues with the darker beer pacs ripping mid-brew on folks. I’m hoping they’ve figured that out!

Sounds a lot like me as well. Long story short, I got in on the Pico C Kickstarter, then took advantage of a few offers they put out and now essentially have the Pico Pro unit. I'm really happy with it. The automated mash function, drastically reduced level of cleaning, and overall smaller...
