I brewed with my home grown cascades today. On my 15 min additions, the glands were pretty much gone but they were still around in the flameout addition bag. I wouldn't worry about it.
I assume you didn't use them for bittering because you were unsure of the AA content? I never had mine...
Fred used to be business partners with the guy at C&S and they had a falling out so I can't but think that about section is pointed towards Fred. Still in doing research for a mill for myself, I have also seen unprofessional behavior from Fred and the guy who makes the Barley Crusher too...
Actually it is the German's fault that American beer became what it did. No really it is. During world war 2, because of increased food demands, wheat acreage allotment provisions were suspended. This meant farmers would make much more money harvesting wheat than barley and wheat production...
