So... bad to leave Wyeast packet out?

Still no bubbles.... Yes I aerated, im afraid that I might have added the yeast when the wort was too hot perhaps? It was about 80f on my thermometer but... im beginning to think its not accurate +/- 10 degrees... shall I throw this batch out? Or is it possible to add more yeast? Thanks for...

So... bad to leave Wyeast packet out?

Hey guys, so I accidentally left a packet of Wyeast liquid yeast at room temp for 3-4 hours before I broke the nutrient packet... could the yeast be all dead? Its been 48 hours and no bubbling out of the airlock... my past 2 beers I made bubbled within 24 hours or so.

    Few questions from a noob

Thanks for the reply. I understand racking from the primary to the secondary to leave behind the trub. Its just that the recipe for the rogue says to rack to secondary after 3-5 days and leave it in there until fermentation completes, and then it says to rack the trub... Weird. Maybe its a...

    Few questions from a noob

Thanks for the replies, I do have a hydrometer and know how to use it. I should have mentioned that. Only 4.2 Gallons of beer for a 5 Gallon recipe...Will it taste bad?

Hey guys! Well I brewed my first batch of beer yesterday with my friend. As we were boiling the wort, we had an unfortunate accident where we contaminated about 2 gallons of water that was sitting in the primary... so we tried to boil/cool water as fast as we could before the wort finished...

Should I keep my hydrometer in the primary?

Hello! I am new to homebrewing, my buddy and I just picked up a pretty decent kit from our local home brewing store (The Cellar in Seattle, WA). We just got the wort in the primary today, we are attempting to make a light wheat ale, seems to be an easy beginner beer. Anyways, just...
