I'm thinking of doing a smoked scotch ale. I've smoked lots of food, but never tried it with grains for brewing. My idea is to use the wood from a Bourbon barrel that was also used to age a coffee stout to fire the smoker. Any tips on the smoking process or recipe ideas would be greatly...
I definitely found this out the hard way. Froze my kegs and had not very cold beer on top. I dropped the probe and added a fan to circulate. Still figuring out how to regulate temp but getting closer.
43 1/2" with the wheels I added, I didn't have any trouble hoisting the cornys in there, but I'm 6'1". It will be interesting trying to clean it though. ;)
Amperage rating should go down with voltage. Anything that pulls 10amps at 240V will pull 20 amps at 120V and vice versa, if something is rated 10 amps at 240V, it should be rated 5 amps at 120V. At 12V it would fall to .5 amps.
The collar is 1" thick and has pink polystyrene insulation stuffed throughout. I lined the interior with 6064 T6 aluminum and fastened the manifold to that. It has a Johnson digital controller and is currently chillin down. :)
I built the outside out of 16ga. sheet metal and insulated it with pink polystyrene. The inside panels are 6064 t6 aluminum. I have more pics from the process, just waiting til they upload and I'll display them here.
