    What did I do wrong?

No need to apologize, I laughed too. All part of being a noob, have to laugh off the mistakes or you can't learn anything! I guess I'll just have to be patient.

    What did I do wrong?

Haha, definitely a DOH! moment. There wasn't enough beer in the flask. My OG came out to a 1.01. Isn't that pretty low? Thanks for the quick responses! Jim

    What did I do wrong?

So I think I ruined my first batch some how. I brewed an Amber Ale and it came out with a funny taste, so I checked the FG (after bottling) and the hydrometer went straight to the bottom of the flask. I'm assuming that means something happened during fermentation? Anyways, I made the mistake...

    Broken Auto-Siphon (My Fault)

    Question about storing/traveling

I am definitely a noob brewer and just finished my second batch, but I am thinking well into my 4th or 5th :cross:. The next project I want to do is either a stout/porter with bourbon soaked oak chips. Everything I have read says that the longer you wait, the better it turns out. That sounds...

    New Brewer in SLO

Thanks, it sounds like I'll just have to do a better job of planning out what I need before I brew. I can't recommend Doc's enough if you've never been there, my only complaint is that I can usually only get in there on saturdays.

    New Brewer in SLO

Thanks for the welcome! Fat, where do you get your supplies? I live about 2 seconds from Doc's Cellar, but they close at 5 so it's hard to get in there sometimes. Jim

    New Brewer in SLO

Hello! My name is Jim and I currently live on California's Central Coast. I have my first brew fermenting right now, it's an Amber Ale from Doc's Cellar (my local home brew store). I can say with confidence that it will not be my last batch, and I have already wasted far too much time on this...
