    Is this feasable?

I visited a site that reffered to bottling your finished brew in plastic screw top coke bottles. I could see a 1L bottle as feasable, but I think a 2L might be acceptable given that I might drink 2L in 2 nights. 3L....forget it!! what's your thinking?? I have already collected and sanitized...

    Just 1 more stupid question

You all have been very helpfull with my questions. I feel I can now order the stuph to make -lets name it- "jimbo bock", a high alc content similarity to either of 2 cheap Texas dark beers: Ziegenbock or Shiner bock. I read reviews on both, they are moderately accepted beers. Turns out I am a...

    Hello!

My thinking is Ziegenbock, not much different from Shiner bock is a fairly cheap with moderate reviews brew(same as Shiner bock essentially). I'll just get the London Brown kit and buy an extra bag of malt extract. This shoult make it darker and bring the alc. up to 6-7%. Does this sound like...

first timer wants to make Ziegenbock

So the jist of it is, just use the yeast supplied with the ingredient kit, but add MORE malt extract(I saw a bag of it for sale online) to bring the specific gravity to a certain level? Or what would be your malt sugar of choice? Jim

first timer wants to make Ziegenbock

Optimator does sound hard to make. I think if I can get close to Ziegenbock (which lets face it, is a fairly inexpensive beer)with 7% alc I will be doing good. When I made wine I used a strain of yeast from the orient tokay(sp) yeast. It yeilded 18% alc, and I simply brought the specific gravity...

    Hello!

Thanks. Optimator does sound hard to make. I think if I can get close to Ziegenbock with 7% alc I will be doing good. When I made wine I used a strain of yeast from the orient tokay(sp) yeast. It yeilded 18% alc, and I simply brought the specific gravity up with table sugar. It worked great in...

    Hello!

Hi, my name's Jim and I'm new to this site. I found this site in an effort to make my own brew at home. Many years ago I made some fine wines, but from reading I see that beer-making is somewhat more difficult and I need some advice before I start. I've already chosen a "starter kit" that I can...
