    Coopers doesn't mention secondary

    You know, if the manufacturer says add 100% fermentables (i.e., sugar and not DME), maybe it is because the manufacturer includes an appropriate amount of non-fermentables to flavor the beer properly all by itself.     Help with sorghum brew/slow ferm.

    I don't know anything about sorghum, but maybe you need some yeast nutrient? Just a hunch.

    oily mouthfeel in my brew

    2 lbs flaked rye 1 lb Cara-Pils 1 lb Caramunich temp didn't go over 160* the whole time I mashed and rinsed (took a while with all these grains and my makeshift system) This is not a mash. The flaked rye needs to be mashed, with base malts. This is probably the root of your problem.
