That's not true. I would bet a large chunk of money you can't tell the difference. That's a beer snob view that has been disproved so many times it's laughable.

You can use 20oz plastic screw top soda bottles, no root beer bottles. Make sure you clean and sanatize them well and keep them out of direct light since they will be clear.

Keep your eyes open on Craig's list for bottles as well. You can get them for free sometimes or close. I paid 15 bucks for 7 cases. I was pissed that I missed the 50 free Grolsch bottles by an hour, so I just bought some.

No recipe, just making it up as I go. Of course I have pulled a lot of info from this message board so hopefully I don't butcher it too bad.
