240V GFI problem sorted! Thank you!

I've been looking for a solution to my electric brewing conundrum: How to brew in multiple areas of my home (we finally have a dedicated brew space in the basement and the garage!) without breaking the bank. Luckily, my main panel is in my basement brew space, so I had an electrician put in a...

Power cord with inline 240V GFI protection

I don't actually...it's an honest question. It seems safe to me, if not a little unorthodox, but I know next to nothing about electricity. As for the future use case, it actually tilts toward the portable solution. I'm guaranteed to move in 3-5 years, so any money I spend on permanent wiring...

Power cord with inline 240V GFI protection

So my electrician just quoted me $1100 to wire up the sub panel. I get that my Frankenstein solution isn't pretty (outlet, pigtail, adapter, extension cord, adapter, kettle)...but is it safe?

Power cord with inline 240V GFI protection

I see, thank you. I found this and the corresponding 14-30P to L14-30R adapter but I'm now quickly getting into frankenstein territory with all the connections, and the total cost is pushing $500. May be worth it just to have the electrician wire it up.

Power cord with inline 240V GFI protection

Maybe I'm overlooking something simple...I'm very new to electric brewing and the terminology. Here's how I read it: Dryer outlet = 14-30R (female) Inline GFCI = 14-30P (male) to 14-30R (female) Extension cord = 14-30P (male) to 14-30R (female) Brewing system cord = 14-30P (male) Are there...

Power cord with inline 240V GFI protection

So what about something like this? inline GFCI plus extension cord Both components look like they're rated at 30A (7200W?) with 10awg. The combined cost is significantly cheaper than installation of a new outlet in my garage. I don't rent, but I do move every 3-4 years so I've been looking for...

Potential "group buy" for bulk GF grains

JMath, My Pale Millet is down to about 80lbs and I've sold fairly small quantities of everything else. I would say I'm not below 20lbs on any of the specialty grains except maybe chocolate millet...I would guess 15lbs. Shoot me a PM and I'll verify I have the quantities you need. Thanks for...

Potential "group buy" for bulk GF grains

JMath and Glutarded: I responded to both conversations a moment ago. Forum responses and private messages have been getting filtered to my junk mail despite having the forum address on my "safe" list...very frustrating for me. I'm sorry if it's too late to get anything going, I understand if...

Potential "group buy" for bulk GF grains

Just completed a great transaction with brewGF...dunno if he needs any "vouching" on the site, but if so, he's got my endorsement! I hope you enjoy your grains!

    Hello Gluten Free Brewing World

It was one of my first extract recipes, and a little planning went a long way, but yes I would consider it an easy brew day. As I see you've learned since this post, there's a bit of coordination to get everything prepped and ready so that the brew day goes smoothly. I "dry-ran" the entire brew...

Potential "group buy" for bulk GF grains

JMath and brewGF: Apologies for the late response, holidays have been a little crazy around my place this year. JMath, can't wait to see your next order! brewGF, it's always worth my time to get fellow GF brewers great grains for their brew days! I'm not familiar with Quickpay, but I'm happy to...
