    New sparge arm

I wanted a sparge arm for my mash keggle but could not find anything that would screw into the 1/2"(mistake) NPT fitting. Last night I decided to make my own with some pipe I had left over from a recent hot water heater install. Any thoughts?

Extended absence - Obstacles to Brewing

The big red turn switch was on the box when I bought it. I modified the layout around the switch and the few holes that were already cut in the box. The same goes for the inside where the internal side of the switch was located and the rails. It is a cool switch as it locks the door shut when...

Extended absence - Obstacles to Brewing

Hello All, I have been brewing for many years and started a full electric (Kal clone) build over two years ago. The project was initiated just before we found out my wife was pregnant with twin girls. (just in case anyone wanted to know a set of twins will go through more than 5000 diapers...

cutting holes in metal control box panel

For $50-75 I would jump all over the water jet. It took several days to get everything lined up, drill all of the pilot holes for the greenlee and jig saw out the PID, Amp and Volt boxes. And still (I know) the holes are not perfect. Add the cost of the greenlee punch, bits and saw blades...

    Control Panel Build

Looks great. I think you might have enough room for a guest bedroom in that box. What is the round thing on the side of the box? Are you going to mount it on a wall?

Another Electric Build - Morgan Dollar Brewery

I finally got started on the stand today. I got a bunch of stainless tubing that had already been welded and used those to design a basic stand. My oldest Son was helping me cut the pieces. I had never welded stainless before but having not welded for several years I was pleased with how it...

tri-clover removable element - brewershardware element adapter

Now that I know what it takes to weld a fitting in I wish I had not spent all the money I did on weldless fittings. The guy that welded the ferrules on at work would not even let me give him $20.

Another Electric Build - Morgan Dollar Brewery

Well we returned from Chicago this week and I finally got some more done on the panel. The biggest PITA so far was cutting the holes in the control panel for the outlets. I literally split it into two nights and used about 3oz of cutting oil. I only used the removable piece and there was not...

    How big is your panel?

I searched for "nema box" This is a great buy (14x14x8) at $75 and you can offer less. The master On/Off is like $20 new and this box has rails and other internal components you could use...

    How big is your panel?

If you are referring to mine, no. It is a used control panel I bought on e-bay.

    How big is your panel?

13.5" x 13.5" x 7" Lots of room but it must weigh 50 pounds and I am still not finished. Before After

It is threaded in and bumps up against a hi-temp rubber washer. Teflon tape on the threads. I think it is much more secure than some of the home engineered ones people have built. No offense to the very talented home engineers.

Another Electric Build - Morgan Dollar Brewery

Someone asked if I was keeping a list of what I had spent so far. "Hell NO" or I would have been forcibly stopped long ago. One box of outlets for the control box arrived yesterday and my Wife lost it. She said she is throwing the next package that comes for me away.
