Yooper - you were basically in a way correct by saying that I may have had some hop debris in my out tube..
Back a couple weeks ago when I was carrying my carboy full of my delicious Pale Ale upstairs from the...
Hey again -
OK..now its getting a bit annoying. I had thought the issue had been over-carbonating due to my lame attempt at burst-carbonating. A couple of de-carbonationslater and still getting "spitty" foam from out line. i thought that perhaps i had mixed the in and out lines but no. i...
Hey guys -
Yep..I force carbonated and now i've had foam in my keg for a week now. I shook for a few minutes total while set at 20psi. Then released some of the CO2 and set at 10 psi or so. Now I cant get a nice pour from my tap. Spits out foam..ALOT. I read elsewhere to try...
Thanks Pol -
What i would do if was to recirculate would be to not use the ice bath for the initial temp drop - say from 212 to 80.
After hitting 80 i would switch to the pump/ice water and recirculate. Would use allot less ice..

Thanks Again!!
I love this hobby and the people who are so helpful!

(Racked Cream Ale to a secondary and within a few minutes racked the cooled Porter from boiler right on top of the Cream ale Yeast Cake)
Within a few hours i had visible fermentation with a layer of...
Hey Guys - ok - i just realized that i have an old Intex pool pump in my garage that i can use for my icebath/pump immersion chiller setup. Any suggestions of how i can convert it to fit the perhaps 1/2 diameter tubes on my chiller...

Thanks everyone! Great bunch here.
Well - might as well go out and buy the more porous braid and a 3/4 in dia.
I honestly think my issues are a perhaps a combination of the very fine braid and the fact that i rarely ever hit 170 when i mash out (lack of experience)
I may use the new braid then...
