Well I did my first batch of Mr. Beer which was an ale. Followed the instructions and let it ferment for 10 days. At about day 7 or 8 I saw the beer go from cloudy to see thru. Left it for an extra 2 days and then bottled.

In my opinion it does not matter. It will not hurt as long as the tube is the right type and properly steralized. But why add another element to the mix that is goign to cause you to have to clean more items and steralize more items????
Well I may experiment with a few bottles. My method is goign to be to get a small amount of water up to a boil and then add honey and a bit of corn sugar. Then I will add a small amoutn to a few bottles before addign my beer.
Yes it is interesting and I wonder if it has somehting to do with the type of beer. I am guessing more so than the type of beer it could be the fact that I used liquid yeast for the first time. IT worked well and took effect fast so I am not worried about that.

I purchased a small sampler pack of different honeys from Vermont and I wanted to try to see if the different honeys would impart different tastes to my beer...
It was stored at around 71F the entire time it was fermenting. So I don't see how it could have been too hot. Granted I realize the internal temperature would have been hotter if the outside room temp was 71 but I am guessign it only went up about 2F.
