What beer/homebrew blogs/magazines do you read?

Been homebrewing almost 2 years now. HBT and Zymurgy are where I get my info.

COVID19 + Work From Home = Brewing like a madman.

Well, if I haven't been brewing more I sure have been thinking about it a lot more. Brewed a Kolsch on Thursday that I've titled KolschVID-19, using Liberty hops because I think some liberty is something everybody wants right now. Also kegged my first beer this past weekend, so I think I'll be...

Win a Brew Kettle or Ferm Tank from Delta Brewing Systems!

Currently in the process of moving from 3-gallon BIAB batches to 5+ gallon batches, and kegging instead of bottling. A new fermentor would be a huge help to that, so throw my name in the hat!

What should harvested yeast look like?

Copy all on the potential yeast damage. I used the harvesting / ranching method directly out of Palmer's book. If that process is damaging and now not recommended, that's news to me. I appreciate your inputs, nonetheless!

What should harvested yeast look like?

Well, for the mason jar method I need to used sanitized, cooled boiled water anyway, so that step is involved regardless. The sanitation is easier because I don't have to deal with the annoyance of the lids, screw tops, and jars. All I need to do is sanitize the separatory funnel, one Erlenmeyer...

What should harvested yeast look like?

Right nobody needs fancy funnels or flasks, but I was sick of playing musical mason jars and having to sanitize the jars, lids, and screw tops. With the separatory funnel, all I have to do is add some boiled, chilled water to the carboy, shake it up a good bit, then decant it directly into the...

What should harvested yeast look like?

Hey HBT, I got into home brewing this year and have been trying to brew consistently in 2019 and was aiming for 12 batches in 12 months. In early November I decided to harvest the yeast using a separatory funnel that I got in August. My purpose for doing this is that it can save me the cost of...

What I did for beer today

Well it actually was Caribou Slobber, the all-grain version from Norther Brewer. I modified the 5-gallon recipe to a 3-gallon recipe so I could do it via the BIAB method. Here is what I used: 5.4lbs Rahr 2-row .45lbs Briess Caramel 60 .30lbs Briess Caramel 80 .15lbs Pale Chocolate (I actually...

What I did for beer today

I dig the Buc-ee's stickers! Gotta make sure you keep brewin' to feed the beavers! Today (really a week ago) I cracked open my Moose Drool clone and was actually bold enough to share it with the family at my nephew's HS graduation (not with the nephew, though). It received good feedback, so I...

How do I keep a 19 year old out of my beer?

Yeah, but harvesting all of that cat urine is going to be a pain!

New post a picture of your pint

Made some Caribou Slobber (Moose Drool clone) since I can't get it here in Houston. It's my fourth time brewing, starting to get the process down I think.
