Not a bad conversion.
This is the Chai, flash must have done something, it's actually not at all that dark. It's a bit darker than iced tea.

My MLT is the cylindrical cooler mod. I reuse my mash tun preheat water as a sanitizing bucket for the day. Go green! More

sounds like the carboy is on an uneven surface, as if when you rotate it, everything just shifts over. Other than that, I have never seen what you're describing. Post a pic for the hell of it.
