Fermentation chambers - let's have a good discussion on what you all are using!

I use a wine fridge with an inkbird temp controller. For heat I use a heat mat which I just roll up and place in the fridge. Cold crashing is not its strong suit so I place a couple frozen 1/2 gallon water jugs in the chamber and it has no problem reaching and maintaining cold crash temps.

My first own ale recipe is not carbonating

You may not have thoroughly mixed your priming sugar in. When I bottle, I usually add my priming sugar in 3 parts through out racking from fermenter to bottling bucket. A month in bottles should be more than enough time to carbonate even in a slightly cooler room. I second the suggestion...

    Counter flow chiller build

Nice build! Looks very clean. I have been Thinking about changing from an IC to a CFC. How do the garden hose style chillers do vs all copper chillers. What are some pros and cons of both.

    DIY counterflow chiller

Does pressurizing the tubing help prevent kinks? I made a IC but have lately been thinking about building a CFC.

    St. Louis Breweries

We went to Heavy Riff Brewing co today for a light lunch and pint. It is about 3 minutes from the zoo. I had the red IPA and my wife had the left coast envy IPA. Both were great. The food was also great. Both the pork and the brocket sliders were great. They had a smoked BLT on special that was...

    Ferm chamber help

I have the dial turned to the coldest setting but I guess I assumed that the inkbird bypassed the internal. So what do I need to do to bypass it. Thanks

    Ferm chamber help

I found a wine chiller that was the perfect size I was looking for. This is an ewave brand which appears to be made by magic chef. It is a compressor model. My plan was to use it as a ferm chamber and had hopes to be able to cold crash and start lagering. I have it plugged into an inkbird and it...

    Conan The Bluebarian (milkshake DIPA)

Tasting notes please. Reading the recipe it seems like this beer would be a muddled mess of flavors. Are you able to identify all of the flavors in this beer?

    Brewing With A New Baby

Congratulations! I have two young kids and my problem is finding time to brew. I try and get a batch a month in and if it gets any longer than that I really get the itch. For me. I try and brew beer that will hold up in the keg for a while. If I brew an IPA which is few and far between I make...

Vacationing in Florida. Where is the craft beer?

Yeah Props brewing is really close to our condo, so I will hopefully be able to try them out. Why are Florida laws weird? You can buy cold beer and wine in grocery stores but you cannot buy liquor at them. The walmart has a liquor store connected to it, but you can't access it from the...
