    hello from illinois

I graduated from U of I in 03. Worked at Murphy's through college. Miss those days! A buddy of mine is still living in Champaign with his wife so we get back about once a year. He's recently into homebrewing. Mentioned there is a homebrew club that meets in town. Are you familiar with...

    hello from illinois

Hey All, in from New York visiting my folks in Geneseo. No homebrew this year with the new travel restrictions. Happy Easter to all those celebrating. Any recommendations on local beers. I've been away for awhile. Dad talks about Granite City, so i think we'll try that.

steam style in keg = no taste

Well, that makes sense and it's plan B... but i was hoping to hear if anyone had placed fruit or hops or anything right into the keg to add to the taste of a brew once it was on tap?

steam style in keg = no taste

Kegged a steam style kit and it's carbonated now. However, it has no taste. Trying to figure out what went wrong... but in the meantime I've got a question. The wife and I decided it would taste pretty all right with a hint of lemon. Can I just open the keg and drop some lemon slices or...

carbonate in fridge, then rotate out?

What are the thoughts on carbonating in my keg fridge, but then rotating that carbed beer out of the fridge so that I can carb another keg in it's place. Will moving the cooled carbed beer to room temperature cause any issues down the road when I recool and pour?

    Compact Fridge (kegerator) capacity

I've got a kenmore 4.9 and it fits 2 corny's and a 5# tank inside... plus i still have the door compartments that hold 6 cans and one tray that can hold about 6 bottles of homebrew or 3 bottles of wine.

    Greetings from NY

Rick, You asked about a local home brew shop in southern westchester. There is a True Value Hardware store in Eastchester, NY (www.cornells.com) and that's the only show in town, or the county, that I know of. They carry homebrew supplies in the basement storage areas. So they don't have a...

    Kegerator project questions

I bought a kenmore elite 4.9 cuft fridge from Sears. I saw you can get an all black model for $179 still.. i paid another $20 for a chrome color front. Then I bought a two tap tower from the beverage factory via their ebay posting which brought a discount... so even if you order over the...

    ball jars for bottling?

I filled a mason jar from my keg over the holidays and drove an hour to a friends house. When we got there he opened it up and sounded just like opening up a can of beer... obviously had held pressure well. Again, after resealing and putting it in the fridge it made a similiar (but less...
