Heading to Indianapolis in a week, any suggestions?

I can second that! (I also have no affiliation with this place, just drink a lot of their beer!) There are other craft breweries in town, most of which make some great beer, but the guys at Bier do an amazing job. Best in the city. Fun to go in and taste what they've got on tap and talk...

    What are you drinking now?

Brooklyn Lager. First time I've had a beer from Brooklyn and I'm impressed. Nothing too crazy, but very good!

Looking for a clone recipe - Augsburger

Thanks for the post. I've contacted Pabst who is the current owner of the licence and am awaiting a response. Hadn't thought of asking them for records though!

Looking for a clone recipe - Augsburger

As the title says, I'm looking for a clone recipe for Augsburger beer, specifically the dark version but would love the golden recipe as well. This beer was brewed in Chicago in the 50's and 60's by Monarch brewing co, where my great grandfather was the brewmaster. This beer obviously has a...

My First Recipe Attempt - Scottish Ale

Again, thanks for the info! I've got lots to learn... The term mini mash scares me... I've only done steeping with extract so far. What will I need to do differently? I'm trying to keep this first attempt at recipe creation as simple as possible. :)

My First Recipe Attempt - Scottish Ale

Thanks for info. I'm moving away from adding honey, looking at adding a honey malt instead. I'll probably mash a bit hotter to get a bit more sweetness. Thanks!

My First Recipe Attempt - Scottish Ale

Hi everyone. A local home brew contest has given me the kick in the butt needed to try creating my own recipes... Time to dive in head first! I'm looking at doing a Scottish Export 80 type beer. I'm going to do a 2.5 gallon test batch to start... Here's what I've got so far, I'm just...

    Hello From Indianapolis

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Great to see members in the Indy area! So far, it seams that my first brew is off to a good start. I've had steady bubbles in the air lock for the last 12 hours or so, and its at a steady 69-70 degrees. BTW, I'm using a "Brewers Best" American Micro style...

    Hello From Indianapolis

Good evening everyone. The name is Bill, and I'm located in Indy. Just cooked up my first brew this afternoon. After contemplating taking up home brewing for a few years, this past week I finally pulled the trigger and got a basic starter kit. I definitely see myself putting a lot of money...
