The emails have been spaced out, and asking different clarifying questions, over a couple of months. Maybe a handful of emails back and forth over those couple of months so it's not like I am emailing multiple times a week. He was very responsive when talking about the Max 2 and I never had any...
Saw that. Been a little frustrated with MoreBeer. Normally they are very responsive but they have gone dark on me.
Been emailing back and forth with their sales guy for a while about the Max 2 (I ordered at the beginning of March). Just asking some questions and stuff. Then reached out to him...
I have a DIY glycol setup right now and what I do for heating is not all that dissimilar than your method. On both of my fermenters (one Anvil bucket and one Spike CF10) I have a reptile aquarium heating cord attached for heating. Simply plug that into the heat side of my STC and set temp. I can...
Will depend on the glycol mixture. I would imagine it will easily maintain temps in the 20s, which is more than sufficient for fermentation and crashing.
Getting this thread back on track after a small derailment...
I was initially leaning towards the Stasis and, luckily, decided to wait until they were rolled out before pulling the trigger. Seems they are facing some issues so I decided to look elsewhere. I was going to bite the bullet and get...
When Craft Beer & Brewing did a review, they made comment about how loud it was but they said they were assured the final product would be quieter.

That's why it stuck out to me. I rarely, if ever, have more than two beers fermenting at once. I was actually going to go with the Max 4 and then noticed the 2. Perfect for me and my setup.
After having my eye on the Stasis unit for a while, I am glad I held off. Through all the delays in getting these built and shipped to the issues (however minor they are) that people are experiencing with their units so far.
I ended up pulling the trigger on the BrewBuilt IceMaster Max 2...
Funny, have had my eye on the Stasis for a while. Got a nice little bonus check and almost pulled the trigger because the site shows that it is currently available. Decided to check for some reviews and found this thread only to find out that those original kickstarter supporters haven't even...
@DBSMike thanks for popping in the forums to answer questions, it is greatly appreciated.
Question regarding the thermowell. Is this something that would accommodate a temp probe from a unit like an Inkbird ITC-308 or is there a specific type of thermometer that would be better suited for the...
EDIT TO THE BELOW: Corey is absolutely awesome and provides great support. Was emailing him past 11pm last night working on the issues which eventually were resolved. It's just frustrating experiencing issues that just don't seem to be easily correctable. Hopefully going forward I am issue free...
There are several priming sugar calculators on line that are all essentially the same. When I bottled, I used this one: https://www.brewersfriend.com/beer-priming-calculator/
Usually there are only a few culprits here.
1 - Infection
2 - Too much priming sugar. If there is too much it will over carbonate and cause this foaming, or worse bottle bombs.
3 - Beer wasn't finished fermenting and continued to do so in the bottle which can also cause the gushing bottles.
^^^Sounds about right. I have an eHERMS that I do a constant recirc on and I generally try to ensure the temp is equalized within the first 5-10 minutes of the mash. Usually it is within a minute or so but sometimes it gets away from me if I am not paying attention to my HLT temp.
